Spin-offs

The following companies are spin-offs of our Department. In most cases, these companies still have active research links with the Divisions in the Department from which they originated.

• LMS. (in 2012, LMS was acquired by Siemens)

• Nikon Metrology. (Started under the name ofMetris until it was acquired by Nikon in 2009.)

• Elytra (formerly called SteelThermHex).
• SoundTalks
• Transport & Mobility Leuven (TML)

A number of spin-offs have already been integrated within other companies: Krypton is part of Metris since 2005; Data Analysis Products has merged with Emerson Process Management/CSI in 2000; and Protec Engineering is now a division of M-tech.
