The organisers of SheMet 2011 are pleased to announce that the 14th edition of this 2-yearly International Conference on Sheet Metal will be held in Leuven. The conference will be hosted by the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven on 18 - 20 April 2011.

The K.U.Leuven was founded in 1425, which makes it one of the oldest universities in Europe, and is situated in a historical environment. It houses the largest Faculty of Engineering in Belgium.

Whether it is the peace and tranquility of the béguinage, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, one of the numerous beer cellars of the Old Market, or the restaurants around the famous Town Hall, the city of Leuven has a lot to offer. After 585 years as a university town, Leuven still attracts the Flemish youth and nurtures it on wisdom, erudition and broad mindedness.

The conference rooms are located in the Provincial House in Leuven, Provincieplein 1, just outside the city centre. Leuven is located in the centre of Belgium only 30 km from Brussels and 20 km from Brussels Airport. It can easily be reached from motorways, railway station and airport, either by car or by public transport. A list of recommended hotels is available from the conference website.
