Bilateral Teleoperation

Reliable Force Feedback for Telesurgery:

AESOP-PHANToM Teleoperation

Bilateral teleoperation in surgery

Bilateral teleoperation between AESOP slave and PHANToM master, running at 1KHz on real-time Labview PXI system. The flexibility of the AESOP arm severely restricts the quality of force feedback. Therefore, a special-purpose surgical slave is currently under development at the RAS-group.

Robotic Laser Surgery

Robotic laser laparoscopy:

LSR_robot.wmv

System overview of the novel Laser Surgical Robot

This video shows the basic working principle of the novel LSR-robot and its operation through an intuitive tablet interface. This demo was shown at the Benelux Precision Fair of 2009.

McKibben-actuated Intracorporal Robot.wmv

Video of one segment of a novel intracorporal robot.

Segments contain flexible structure with a central tube, three fluidic McKibben actuators and spacer disks. Three special-purpose hydraulic valves were designed and integrated in each segment, operating at a supply pressure of 10 bar

Angular stroke at 10 bar, ± 45º in 2 d.o.f. - maximal outputforce at endeffector 0.6N (at 8 bar) - compact hydraulic valves, integrated in structure, currently operate at 8 bar.
