The Control Research Group (CRG) is embedded in both the
Mechatronics
and Robotics Research group and the Noise and Vibration Research
Group of the division PMA (Production Engineering, Machine
Design, and Automation). These research groups have a long research
activity and a strong reputation in the areas of modelling,
identification and control of complex mechatronic systems.
This activity is focussed on model based control, and is backed
up with research on modelling and experimental identification. The
group has designed, implemented and validated model based
controllers for linear motors used in machine tools, for noise and
vibration compensation, for complex multi-variable systems, such as
vibration-simulators, and for highly non-linear systems such as
hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
